Strategic Review and Implementation for Global Pharmaceutical Company
Milestone was retained by a global pharmaceutical company to set up and develop a dedicated events team within the UK Affiliate. First, we undertook a strategic review of current and potential business and customer requirements. We then formulated recommendations which complied with legal and regulatory guidelines and met the client's business need and budget. The programme was implemented under the company's "Lean Six Sigma" initiative.
We created systems and standard operating procedures for the delivery of all client meeting requirements and undertook the necessary staff training. These included financial management; compliance review, venue search and supplier contracting; proposal development; project planning; delegate registration; materials and audio-visual / stage set management; social programmes; onsite delivery and financial reconciliation.
Milestone provided project and delegate management tools (budget and proposal templates, compliant response forms, an automated delegate management system, critical paths and step-by-step check-lists) to enable the new team to "hit the ground running".
Additional projects included:
- Consultancy advice to Procurement on the pan-European event management strategy
- Development of job specifications and recruitment
- The creation of an RFP process to source external suppliers and venues
- Recommendations on potential delegate management systems, and
- The creation of a tailored Excel-based "business dashboard"
